Does showering serve a public/personal health purpose, or is it mostly a matter of hygiene?
Post Body
It seems to me that, if a person were to regularly wash their hands and disinfect/clean wounds, whether they showered at all would have little effect on the incidence of infection and disease. Is there evidence that suggests that regular showers help prevent disease, separate from the cleaning of wounds, which presumably could be done without a shower.
