So the wife and I are in the market for a new car and will be trading our 2016 Kia Sorento in. I have had HORRIBLE experiences with trading a vehicle in the past. I want to get my ducks in a row and be better prepared this time. I have used all the car value sites (KBB, Edmunds etc...) to determine how much it is worth trade in (about $9k). My first question is how accurate are those values? I will also go on autotrader and see what Sorento's are listed at around the area. The 2nd question is what are some of the tactics that dealerships use on trade in cars. I know the dealership needs to make money but I don't ever seem to get a fair deal. I obviously don't have to trade in but would like some info from more experienced people. Thanks everyone this group is always helpful!
