I often go to summertime evening/night events in Pack Square, like movie nights and concerts - have been for a few years. I went to a movie last week. As the sun was setting, I noticed dozens of medium-large sized cockroaches emerging from one of the metal drainage covers/holes in the concrete seating that faces the stage area. I moved my seat to what I considered a safe distance from these critters (I know they are harmless, but they creep me out).
After the event ended, I left. As I walked through the square, I saw countless roaches stepped on, like a war zone. Others were merrily skittering down the street amidst pedestrians.
I never saw this before in the square, or in Asheville period. It was way worse than I ever saw in Atlanta. Has something changed? Is this just what happens when the nighttime weather is in the mid-70s around here?
