Should I cosplay as goblin slayer at anime/comic conventions due to the content of the anime?

I wanna make a cosplay as him and go to the next anime and comic con with it, which are both several months away so I should have more than enough time.

However, I am kind of reluctant to work a few months on him and show up to a convention because people might think I will be a weirdo for it. Like the anime is controversial and it has you know what in it.

I wanna cosplay as him because hes badass and i like him but with the nature of the anime and my bad social skills, im worried i will appear as some huge fucking creep.
