Context:
I have the Platinum, Delta Reserve, and Marriott Brilliant cards all which have high annual fees
I make 133k/yr and will travel on average 26 weekends out of the year, 19-22 of those weekends involving flights.
I utilize all of the platinum perks minus maybe the $200 incidental flight perk but I might start using that for drinks and stuff now that I just started this job. Using all the platinum perks effectively makes it a $50 fee if I remember correct.
The delta reserve card I honestly just folded because I got the limited edition one made of the retired airplane metal, however all my flights I’ll be booking with the new job will be delta so I think the points and lounge access will make up for it in airports where there’s a delta lounge but no centurion lounge
The Marriott card I got for the new job as well, since I’ll be staying in hotels each of the 26 weekends. The automatic platinum status is a big bonus for me, since I’ll probably earn titanium, if not ambassador level with the amount of travel for the new job
Outside of the reasonings above, I’ll plan to travel to Hawaii and maybe Japan on my vacation time with the points I’m getting from all the job travel, and the delta status I’ll earn and Marriott status I’ll earn likely means free suite and first class upgrades.
