That’s absolutely not how it works. Hyperpigmentation is caused by hormones, skin disorders, scars and if you’re a bigger person your skin rubbing together. Hygiene has nothing to do with hyperpigmentation it’s not dirt
Also as for folds I know plenty of people who are bigger or have “folds” who are clean af
