So I have been vegetarian since I was 11. Back then, I didn’t have a ton of options except for black bean burgers. I ate Morningstar’s veg burgers so much that I eventually grew to hate them. Now in my adult life, I don’t really eat burgers unless it’s a Beyond one on occasion.
I was skeptical about Aldi’s veggie burgers. I can be a bit picky about texture. I kept reading about the quinoa crunch burgers, but I never saw them in my store. On a random Aldi trip, when I saw the rare sight, I snatched up a box and thought I’d give it a shot.
Delicious. I was surprised when I opened the box and it was actually crunchy! Had a nice shell to it almost. Fried those puppies up in a pan and kept it simple with mustard and ketchup. I lightly burnt some of it but it kind of added to the texture. And it wasn’t mushy on the inside!
My vegan partner, who is picky about his burgers too, was instantly impressed. 10/10 will buy as many boxes as I can the next time I see them!
I doubted the online opinions I’d read but I was glad I listened!
