Sold plot and visitor at campsite - timing question

I've got a SOLD plot and a visitor at my campsite today. Will the visitor still consider moving in even though I only have 9 actual residents today? Everyone has been on my island for awhile so I don't mind switching it up but I also don't want to keep talking to him if he's never going to go through that dialogue.
