Is it common for your boss to not express condolences after your family member died?

Post Body

I work as a researcher at an academically affiliated hospital and my grandmother passed earlier this week, may she rest in peace. All of my other team members have reached out to express condolences- but my PI, the department chief, has not. He has a brusque manner and generally is not one to be polite, but I feel this crosses the line for being a normal jackass to not even being a decent human. My partner told me it was very weird but I am wondering if I am being sensitive about it. It has me wondering if I should brush up on my CV and apply. Thanks :)
