So we have this cop, Kyle, who chases two drug dealers (Jason and Daniel) on a countryside. Night time. His colleagues were far; he does the job alone. Then he traps the two of them on the cliff, where there's a rapids at the bottom. Jason is about to shoot Kyle, but it turns out Daniel shoots him at the back before he could shoot Kyle. Daniel is revealed to be a fresh graduate cop who does an undercover mission on his own, without his superior's knowledge. Basically this fresh grad dude just wants to impress the people around him.
So in the heat of the situation, Daniel panics, afraid that he's gonna be jailed. So our main dude, Kyle, suggests that he's the one who shall take the blame and just tell everyone that it's for self-defense. So what he did was he fired more bullets on the ground, then Daniel throws Jason's dead body on the rapids. Then afraid that he's gonna be punished, he removes his clothes and slices his hand, drips blood on his clothes, and throw it on the rapids instead. Go on a hiding.
So it's like they staged an act where Daniel is 'missing' and then Kyle is suspended while the investigation is on progress. Because the system is corrupt, no autopsy was conducted on Jason's body when it was found three days later. It was ruled as like, 'he resisted, he was executed.' Months later, Kyle returns to his job but was assigned to a different department.
More conflict arises when Daniel's father insisted on reopening the case, he wants to know what really happened to his son, because this father doesn't believe that Daniel 'jumped' from the cliff to escape and that he was member of a gang, and that his real name is Brian. Kyle's chief orders him to leave the city for now while this dad is on the search. The dad doesn't have anything to hold against Kyle because there wasn't an evidence that might point that Kyle 'shoot him'. It's just a missing body.
Now, Daniel/Brian lives on his own, on a province away from everyone. He alters his physical appearance and waits for the right moment to come back. He's afraid to go back because not only he is afraid to go to jail but also his father places him on the pedestal. He's pressured to prove himself to him, and that now he has fucked up, he had no face to show his dad. Another twist is that Kyle knows where he lives and helps him financially in secret.
Questions: do all of these make sense? Does it make sense the police can reject Daniel's dad's request to see Kyle? Can anybody spot a plot hole in here or something that is not realistic? Help me please.
