How do tournaments work?

I'm new to Wreckfest (like 2-3 days playing) and today I saw the Carmageddon tournament/event that says it lasts 99-100 days. I go to that menu and I see daily quests which grant fame, and in the tournament store I can buy things with fame.
Now the question: Will I be able to get the Eagle (carmageddon car) after the event is over? I don't think I can farm that much fame in the event's timeframe, I suck at the game. Also, does fame decrease after buying the car? or is just a "level requirement"? Third question: Does the amount of fame earned on this event stores so the next event I have it easier'?
