Taking sick days after putting in your 2 weeks
Post Body

I live in NY, I stupidly put in my 2 weeks without taking any of my sick days and my accrued PTO days. They have worked me to hell and I havenโ€™t been able to use any of my time off. My company is paying me 80 hours of my pto days, but the other half are basically gone (an additional 80 hours) additionally I have 9 unused sick days.

My insurance is ending on my last day of employment and I need to go to a few scheduled dr appointments on my last week. Can I take 3 of those sick days during my last week?

I have already tried to take them as PTO days since those are accrued days, but my manager rejected my request. In NY, can I be prematurely fired because I took the remainder of my sick days? Any advice?

For the record, I do not care about burning bridges, these people are a nightmare and I do not plan on using them as references.
