The PAL razor is on loan from u/adammccann71
Review:
The PAL Adjustable Injector stainless steel (how about all of those adjectives in a row?) razor dates back to the early 1960s, some saying it was designed with the Schick Adjustable razor in mind. Since then, several other modern injector razors have styled their razors after the PAL, like Parker’s adjustable injector razor. Even the Supply stainless reminds me of the PAL, although the Supply uses adjustable plates instead of the vintage idea of an adjustable dial.
In terms of the shave, this razor is the most blade-forward injector I have ever used, even on the lowest setting. In the grand scheme of all razors I’ve ever used I would classify the PAL as being slightly above medium, but definitely not aggressive. For my shaves earlier in the week I kept the razor on its lowest setting, as I didn’t notice much of an efficiency difference between the medium and low settings on the razor, so I had no issues sticking to the lowest setting. For today’s shave I started off on the highest setting and reduced the aggression for each successive pass. The high setting was not comfortable for me, but I’m glad I tried it out anyway.
Overall, I’m glad to have used this stainless injector razor from PAL. I had wanted to try one out, but it turns out they are somewhat difficult to find, especially with the case, so thanks again to u/adammccann71 for the loaner!
Question: What have your experiences been like with modern or vintage injector razors? Which are your favorites? If I had to rank the injectors I’ve used I would say the Supply is my favorite, PAL is my second favorite, and the Schicks have been my least favorite.
