Barrister and Mann Fougère Aromatique (Review)
Post Body

Holy fucking shit. That is all I can say about this soap.

Now everyone knows the gloriousness behind Barrister & Mann's shaving soap. Some may even go as far to call Will a wizard for the soap that he masterfully produces. But this...this soap is something else.

As many of you know Will released two Fougeres back in June; Imperiale and Aromatique. Having missed out on the sale, I was fortunate enough to buy some Aromatique from /u/gaidin23 last week who thankfully had an unused tub lying around (he was one of the lucky few to have purchased both Fougeres). And boy am I lucky he did or I would not have had the opportunity to use this soap.

So, time to actually talk a bit about the soap. I have been trying to find a scent description for Aromatique but have had difficulty doing so. Suffice it to say that it is a very complex, unique and amazing Fougere, which you can always expect from Barrister & Mann. I have both their Bay Rum and Lavanille soaps as well (and now a sample of Roam thanks to /u/gaidin23), but there was something about Aromatique that was just different. It seemed far superior in just about every aspect. I just hope that it wasn't all in my head.

With the scent, and its strength, being absolutely top notch, the ease of lathering could not have been better, simply stated. I soaked my boar brush for a couple of minutes, loaded the soap, and started lathering using the method from /u/mrtooniceguy. The soap simply exploded into a creamy lather in mere seconds, which never happens to me with Barrister & Mann. It usually takes me far more time to get a great lather. The scent only strengthened and became more intoxicating. It was hard to lather because I kept sticking my nose into the bowl to smell. While shaving, the slickness was incomparable. I was able to go over spots without lather multiple times due to the slick motherfucker. It was beautiful. And you want to talk about cushion? I may as well have had pillows covering my face for how fluffy and thick the lather felt, yet it still had a nice consistency. And finally, for probably the most important aspect of shaving soaps for me: the post-shave. At this point you are probably guessing that I'm going to just rave about the post-shave feeling as well. Well, you're right. My face has never felt so good after using a shave soap, not even after the other B&M soaps I've used. My face feels like it was just kissed by the beautiful, bare, smooth asses of Cherubs. Glorious I tell you. I tend to have sensitive skin that dries out easily and therefore ALWAYS use a post-balm, but I didnt even think about reaching for a balm this time

I was so damn giddy throughout my shave that I found myself giggling at my reflection in the mirror. Ya, it was one of those shaves.

So I'm sure you're frantically asking, practically yelling at your screen where you can purchase a B&M Fougere? Well nowhere, unless someone who has it is willing to give up theirs, which no one in their right mind would do. BUT, because the gods are kind, I've heard that Will will be re-releasing the Fougeres. Now, for those of you who have not tried them, do yourselves a favor and buy them the second they come out.

I'm sorry about being all circle-jerky but I just needed to share my love for Will and the great products he creates

I think I have just found my new favorite soap. 10/10
