Spain, mid-January 1939
January is a cold month, despite the warm start to the winter in 38. In Sevilla, in the southern regions, it does not snow, but elsewhere across Spain, snow sweeps the world anew for the Working class.
In a speech by Jose Diaz Ramos, it was declared that all land and factories in the hands of the SWF would be collectivized. Landlords and factory owners who did not already flee would be removed from ownership, and ownership would instead be handed to those who till the land and work the factories, whom would be put to work supplying the SWF with supplies and manufacturing base. Those near the frontlines will also find themselves armed to an extent, in case they need to resist Monarchist occupation or invasion. This is on top of politically agitating within SWF-held territories, and calling up workers and peasants from all territories to be trained in how to fight. In addition, those who are farther away from the front will find programs being created in order to expand education and literacy for the youth [although adults are free to join if they choose] in Spain, for men and women alike, no matter social class.
"This, comrades." He said, in a speech he gave in the newly fully liberated city of Sevilla, where rebuilding from the combat has already begun, "Will be the dawn of the new age of the proletarian of Spain! No more landlords! No more rich men who profit off your labor! Only us! The workers and peasants of Spain! Workers who are not yet free, do not despair! Liberation comes to us all!"
"We who are now free will not quietly return to subservience! We who are now free will not return to the darkness from which we came! We will fight! Every one of us can fight!"
"Long live the Worker's Front! Long live the Peasants and Workers of Spain! Of Iberia!"
Already, the programs have begun to take effect; from the Mediterranean to the Atlantic, the workers have control, and they will not be giving it up so easily.
