Fiancé’s bus back Christmas Day from visiting his family got canceled, so I had to spend Christmas Day alone with my cats. He had to wait until last night to get home. Just as a precaution, I had him take a home Covid test as soon as he got in the door.

It was positive and now we still have to sleep in separate beds even though we’re in the same apartment.

My severely-understaffed healthcare workplace has to go without me for the next week because I can’t avoid all contact sharing a bathroom and I have to get 2 negative Covid tests 5 days apart before I can return. Oh, but friday’s a holiday and they don’t test on holidays. And they don’t test on weekends.

(What doesn’t suck? Paid time off. What does suck? I can’t go anywhere, do anything, or even kiss my fiancé on New Year’s Eve.)
