I’m looking to take a welding course it takes 40 weeks and they will get me certified in 2 out of the 3 welds that I’m being taught. My question is realistically what can I look at making if I find a company that will put me on the road, that is my goal to get with a company and stay working on the road for the next 5-10 years, save up enough money to possibly venture out on my own. I’m 34 years old though so I’m not young but I’m not old. I spent most of my career doing commercial roofing but I’m not satisfied and want to learn a different trade, something I actually like doing and I’m interested in. If any one has any tips I’m also looking for entry level positions, the instructor at the school said I will be introduced to possible employers once I complete the school but I’d like to get a head start if possible. Also how much work is there actually out there for welders who are willing to go on the road. Thanks
