TL;DR Newly engaged, thinking if I host small outdoor wedding on August long 2021 in Alberta I can restrict my numbers to 50 and avoid insulting family. Wondering if the gamble is worth the risk...
Holy mackerel, I've been engaged for 24 hours!
My boyfriend and I want to take advantage of size restrictions to artificially lower my guest count. I have a huge family. I mean huge. Including first cousins, aunts, uncles, and immediate family, I'm at 97 people.
That's just my family. No friends. Still have my fiance's family and our friends.
If I have a wedding during the August long, outdoors, do you think its reasonable to aim for 50 people?
I've looked at the rollout plan and from what I'm reading, the restrictions on weddings are expected to lift/reduce first pretty consistently. I dont think we'll see a huge change until the end of year in terms of returning to normalcy.
Basically I'm trying to ride on the coattails of a pandemic to avoid a huge fallout from insulted family members for not wanting to spend myself into poverty on food for one night...???
Is this nuts?
