OK this my have been ask before but I was told that melta boues damaged can't be reduced so example the ghostkeel have steal drone that twice per game can make damaged zero but the boues melta damaged will still go through

So let say I shoot a ghostkeel at half range with a melta 2 gun it hit and wounds and the ghostkeel activities the drone to make the melta damaged zero will the extra damaged still go through , I was told because that damaged happened after all saving throw it can't be block same with devastating wounds

I'm sorry if I haven't explained it well I suck at explain thing in writing
