Is there a way to select a referrer after account creation?

I've started playing the game early last week and only learned of the referral program on the weekend. Now I'm only playing the game because a friend of mine made me try it, but he didn't even know about the referral thing himself. I'd really like to make him my referrer as I'm thinking about buying a few Platinum, and as he's an awesome guy want him to have a share of that. I don't even care about the affinity boost.
Anyone knows if there's a way to do this?
