Today, Outcrop Silver & Gold (OCG.v or OCGSF for U.S. investors) gave an update on its ongoing drilling at the Jimenez target within its 100%-owned Santa Ana silver project in Colombia.Â
Recent drilling results highlight some of the broadest intercepts recorded in the current campaign, with newly identified parallel veins contributing to the potential for significant resource expansion.Â
Outcrop Silver is advancing exploration with two rigs active at the Jimenez and La Ye targets, while preparations are underway to initiate drilling at the Los Mangos target.
Drilling Highlights at Jimenez Target:
- Hole DH401 Results:
- Intersected 0.32m at 1,288 g/t silver equivalent (AgEq), part of a wider 3.58m interval at 131 g/t AgEq.
- The newly discovered Jimenez North vein returned 0.30m at 789 g/t AgEq, included within a 2.04m interval at 145 g/t AgEqÂ
Vein Continuity:
- Drilling confirmed continuity along 500m of strike and 200m down dip, emphasizing both the presence of narrow high-grade zones and broader intervals of mineralization.
- Parallel and subparallel veins were identified, enhancing the target’s potential for further discoveries and resource expansion.
Geological Insights:
- The Jimenez target comprises parallel and subparallel veins extending nearly 500m along strike, with historical workings indicating long-term mining activity.
- Mineralization is hosted within quartz veins, associated with sulfides like argentite, a typical ore found in high-grade zones across the Santa Ana project.
Ongoing Drilling Efforts:
Outcrop Silver continues to focus on testing the depth and lateral extensions of the Jimenez vein, targeting broader zones and expanding the resource potential. Current drilling aims to build on the high-grade results, with a parallel effort underway at La Ye and preparations for drilling at Los Mangos.
The discovery of the Jimenez North vein and the confirmation of mineral continuity support Outcrop Silver's resource growth strategy for Santa Ana. The results demonstrate both the project’s high-grade potential and its broader development prospects as exploration progresses.
More updates are expected as Outcrop Silver continues to advance drilling at Santa Ana.
