Guides on how to best progress?

Been playing for about a week or so and after going pretty quick up until around level 70 of the first campaign; now it seems like I’m stalling out in terms of upgrading characters and unlocking new ones.
Are there good guides anywhere on how to start making better progress? Some google searching doesn’t bring up much about the game at all let alone a good beginners guide to unlocking and progressing characters.
