Does any degree have any more teaching than just textbooks and linked resources?
Post Body

So I started the software engineering program on Aug. 1st. I’m currently on my 4th course for the term and yet again it’s all just textbook reading. I did a year of online classes at a state school and it involved discussions, lectures, and assignments. I understand that the self-paced nature of WGU doesn’t allow for an exact program as I just mentioned, but some of these courses I’d actually like to learn.

Are there ever any pre-recorded lectures or really anything other than reading the textbooks to these courses? I despised doing discussions, but looking back it was an excellent way to cement the material and see things from others point of view.

I like the flexibility that WGU offers at the same time though I feel as if I’m paying to not so much get an education as I am to get a piece of paper.
