Triax vs Fiber

I need to get cabling installed throughout a couple different venues that will patch into fiber back to a centralized control room, and was hoping to get some pros/cons on triax vs fiber for the in venue. Longest distance would likely be 600ft, so can triax do that? If so, how is it in terms of longevity and price be fiber?
We do have an outside firm working with us on this but I like to get opinions for my own education.
