Controller software range capabilities?

Post Body

Hi everyone, I've finally gotten our home network setup (edgerouter X/AC Lite combo) and we all LOVE it! I've especially fallen in love with the controller software that lets me manage and see the various devices, but a question I have is if this functionality is only limited to being on the same network as the AP/Devices in question. If I were to for example go to another state and connect to another network (obviously) would the controller software still maintain its same level of current functionality? Would I be able to access the AP back home and see the various devices connected to it? Or would some level of configuration be necessary to allow that to happen, and if so what specifically should be done? The one thing specifically we would like to be able to do is block any devices on the network that we need to, and from what I know currently that can only be done via the controller, but would such a thing be possible if the controller is connected to a remote network outside of the one that the AP in question is on? Sorry if there is some redundancy in this post, but I do look forward to any insight/answers to this!
