A friend of mine shared yesterday that her and her partner recently started becoming intimate and are not using condoms. He is uncircumcised, for her this is her first partner who’s intact.
Additional information she shared is that she’s particularly prone to them in general, she doesn’t consistently use the bathroom post intercourse and he doesn’t wash up before they are intimate.
I did let her know you should always go pee after any sexual contact and suggested he should try washing himself before they have sex. She’s having them back to back, has seen a doctor and it’s nothing more nefarious or mysterious than a UTI but it’s obviously a huge pain.
I know that sometimes a man’s semen doesn’t agree with your “flora” (as it were) and can cause recurring yeast infections or bacterial vaginosis (or having multiple partners) - but I don’t recall reading about a difference in occurrence when comparing a circumcised vs uncircumcised partner.
Is there anyone else who finds they have a sharp increase in UTI’s with uncircumcised men? Do you have any recommendations or suggestions that have helped you out in a similar situation?
