When i was in second grade I met a friend who was really good at drawing (as good as second graders get) and I decided to teach myself to draw because I thought it was a cool and fun thing. But once we started getting older and social media was a thing I saw so many tutorials on âYou shouldnât draw like thisâ or âThatâs not how you should do âxâ.â It makes people think their abilities arenât good enough or that they need to âdo it rightâ
Art is what you make it and there is no âright wayâ to do any art form. Dance can be fluid and smooth or rigid and powerful. The same goes for singing.
Iâve been teaching myself to undo the perfectionist mindset for years. But it still comes to bite me in the ass.
