Just saw the “How old is too old to start trucking” post and have a couple follow up questions…
Post Body

I’m 43 and currently working in oil and gas. I make good money but my current career is likely going to end in 5-10 years. I have a 10 and 12 year old and a supportive wife who would likely ride shotgun. I could very well have no mortgage in 5-10 years. Kids old enough to sustain themselves and always loved big rigs. My old man drove them, I grew up on a grain farm driving 2 axle 4 speeds and automatic tandems. I’d love to go trucking as a transition into full retirement. My biggest question is what kind of income could I expect? Not looking to get rich but something to supplement life while I transition. I enjoy driving and seeing new country. I would ideally want to do long hauling.
