For the world of Travel Nursing we have gotten another reminder that personality, care, and being a good human don't mean a gawd damned thing. Back in 2023 I "changed plans" and found RM with One staff. He got me a job with decent(ish) money. Unfortunately, it didn't work out and I left early, but we kept in touch. He was always a great listener, and had a very down to earth way about him that was awesome. Several weeks ago, he busted his ASS to get me an assignment I did not really want, but because it helped me achieve a bucket list item, and I felt I 'owed him one' so I took the gig. The gig hasn't been great, and unfortunately with my experience, I came to find out I wasn't a great fit. A couple of weeks ago, I found out that OSM had let RM go. Now, as things weren't HORRIBLE, I tried to stick it out, but last Thursday I got a reminder of how out of my depth I was, and I resigned on Friday morning. I made sure to note that if OSM had NOT let RM go, there was a chance the contract could have been saved, but as he wasn't there, I saw no point in continuing a relationship with them. To RM.. I can't promise to work with you again, but I'd love to stay in touch. To OSM. .. FOAD.... To everyone else, business loyalty doesn't exist. Don't be afraid to eff them before they ef you.
