Updated specific locations to be searchable, take a look at Las Vegas as an example.

Post Body

A couple of months ago I made a post where it seemed that the rates were starting to turn around. Every time I see this forum/sub since it's been 'can you believe THIS shitty rate?' 'can you believe they think people want THAT shitty rate?!?' shitty rates, shitty rates, shitty rates.. I am here to tell you all something that I have said before, but in a slightly different way. I think we all need to ask ourselves two questions before we even start to look. The first is "Are we REAL travelers, or do we want to stay within 200 miles of home, and CALL ourselves travelers?" Now, I promise I'm not throwing shade here, but it REALLY is important to understand who we REALLY are before we answer this question by what we search for. The next question, especially if we consider ourselves "real travellers" (whatever the f that means) is are we doing this 'cause we need to work or 'cause we want money?.. Yes, of course we need both, but we might want to think of this from an analytics POV before we start giving hiring managers the data that gives them permission to f us.

So let's think of every single job as a massive pool. We are nurses, so our pool is smaller than the rest of most careers. Yay us... But... When we go to 'indeed' and search RN (my area), we are sending two messages. One, we are looking for any RN job and two, we don't REALLY want to travel. Hiring managers have access to this data and drool because people who don't want to go far and aren't being more selective about working probably need to get started working sooner than they need to be paid properly.

What I beg you all to consider searching is the following " Travel RN $150,000" with no location selection. This means you are legitimately looking to travel, and you are legitimately looking for jobs that offer the money you deserve. It also sends the message that your not even willing to look at the shit jobs being noted here.

Now I can't promise anything... But I suspect... If we all are searching jobs with $120,000 $150,000 etc.. all those ads with jobs offering $50,000 are not going to be seen. See when the managers see their ads are being seen, they are "legitimate", but when the view count is zero, something is wrong and needs to change....

The bottom line is that if we want more we need to ask for more before we even click "search". They are using data to destroy us. We need to use data to destroy them. This is a fight we can win without so much as opening our mouths, much less confronting anyone like Oliver Twist asking for "more please".
