I've seen a lot of argument and grumbling here about Trance and what is "real" and all of this crap about how Above & Beyond isn't playing Sun & Moon anymore or how Armin is catering to the American music market (#TYAG)

I don't really get it. I admit I have only been listening to Levels for a few years, but it is my favorite genre. There is just as much good shit now as back in the day (except before A&B came about obv. DAE 90's?) I listen to old stuff and new. Just because some of the new music isn't like Sun & Moon doesn't make it crap.

There are different styles of trance and DJs like to change things around. You guys act like one slight thing fucks up the genre and it doesn't. There's also the fact that mixes can change the genre of the song. I've heard Levels mixes of Trance songs and it's still good.

EDM is full of specific sub genres and things cross over very easy. It's frustrating to see people say "He started in pure trance and is now in progressive vocal hard trouse" That is just ridiculous. Have you heard Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall by Swedish House Mafia? Or Levels by Avicii? Or Sun & Moon by Above & Beyond? Did you ever watch a Zyzz video? Well I heard a completely Trance mix by Armin and it was still great either way.

Stop acting so pretentious and getting mad at DJs who want to play the music they enjoy. So many of you guys get so specific that it's just insane. There aren't many differences between Levels and Bromance from Avicii. There is a very thin line that can be easily crossed. Hence why it's so hard to define things like Prog Trance and Prog House. Unless you have a major in Music I doubt you really can define them.

This sub is almost as bad as /r/Trance. Just sit back and enjoy Group Therapy and stop freaking out if your one true god Armin decides to experiment and change things up: he knows what's best, not you.
