Warning: These are spoilers from Chapter 12.
At the end of Chapter 12, the game reveals two more Representatives of the Invaders : someone who appears to be Dark Tangaroa and White-haired Wakan Tanka, which turns our head around a lot. However, with the recurring theme that "everything is not always what they seem to be", it's unlikely that those two are fully Tangaroa and Wakan, and something sinister must be in play. Case in point:
There has never been a case of same unit receiving a drastically different pose for their 3* sprite (Added: Apart from Old/Young Ophion), with the most being head tilting like Snow and Garmr.
Even though Tangaroa and Wakan are popular, it's too early for both of them to get another variant when even Toji hasn't received his. Moreover, going by the story, these "variants" seem to be Main Story's ones, making this far too unusual and unlikely to happen.
While White-haired Wakan still looks similar to his "normal" form (except for his ponytail), Dark Tangaroa looks far too different to be considered the same person, especially with the octopus replacing the snake motif (Tangaroa hates octopus), and his Sacred Artifact appears to be the hook on his chest.
The most likely theories right now are:
They're not the same person, but are shadows of Tangaroa and Wakan/are different characters entirely but look similar due to plot reason.
Tangaroa and Wakan get hijacked by other characters in order to join the game.
Lastly, this Dark Tangaroa could be Hawaiian God Kanaloa (who is associated with squids and octopuses), meaning that the Exile from his world could be Kane.
