hey everyone! a bit of a back story, i’ve had the same tiktok account since 2019 and have never put my age or birthday since being on the platform. never been asked to!

the other day i was messaging my friend on the app and suddenly was completely banned from messaging others (out of nowhere!!) a few moments later this showed up. i’ve never been asked for my age since being on the app so i’m wondering if it’s a new safety update, which would make sense, but i wanna send my friends tiktoks lol!

letting you guys know, i am a few years older than 16 and have been on the app messaging freely since day 1 without any problems! (which is why it caught me off guard lol!)

i understand if there’s no way around this but a selfie with my ID is crazy, a crazy ask and just a crazy thing to do in general right? same with the credit card, just feels like such an invasion and so risky.
