I must say that this is a show that continues to get better with each season. As of this post I am midway through Season 3, and it is better than 2. I hope that stays this way, but I hear people constantly dissing Season 5.

But on to the point of this post. My thoughts on Season 2. Like before I will break it down into things I like and things that I did not like.

Things that I liked:

• The music. Whoever is in charge of deciding what music to use for the show is awesome. Not once has a track felt out of place.

• The werewolf storyline was better handled. They actually felt like part of the actual plot. Jackson had some more moments, and I liked him. Oliver was a standout in this storyline as was Aiden.

• The antagonists. The first half was good with the arrival of the mother of Klaus and his siblings. The second half had Dahlia, I actually really liked her. I kind of wished she was the soul antagonist of her own season.

• Cole and Fin. Fin was an excellent supporting antagonist, the actor who portrayed him was also very good. Cole, while I have my issues with him, was pretty good as well. I like with Cole better than vampire Cole.

• Freya. I pretty much fell in love with her character right away. Though how can she use magic? I’d she joined the New Orleans witches, shouldn’t she be beholden to the Ancestors?

• Elijah. I pretty much like him all around. I do like that they gave him some time to shine on his own.

• Klaus. Again wether I like the character or the actor is just that good, he was awesome this season. People say that he doesn’t redeem himself, but he kind of does. He legit gets progressively better as the season goes on.

• Marcel. He was better. I guess he could go into a mixed category.

Things I didn’t like:

• Rebekah. While I did like her role in the season, as a character she didn’t really do much.

• Davina. Just can like her. Is there ever a season where she’s likable?

• Hailey. People constantly say she’s a good character. But she does nothing, and even when she does try to do something she kinda gets in the way. I liked the one scene where the was badgering Klau and he basically put her in her place. I did sorta like that she had a more active role though.

• The ancestors. Just don’t like them.

• Body hopping. From a story standpoint it makes sense. But if Rebekka is going to be in the show then I want her in it. Was the actress doing something else or something?

• Marcels role. While I liked him, he really didn’t contribute anything to the story.

Well there you have it. What did you all think of season 2?
