To start off, I was really into this show. I marathoned it in one week. There were a bunch of highs, and a few lows.

Highs:

• The story was generally good.

• Klaus was entertaining all the way through. Elijah had a very consistent story as well.

• There we’re hints at romance, and while they did sort of beat you over the head for it, it wasn’t too overbearing.

• The witches were good antagonists. There was a point where I thought that they would become annoying, they didn’t.

• The supporting characters were actually pretty good and none were ever overtly annoying.

• The werewolf storyline has me intrigued I’ll admit. Can’t wait to see where it goes.

• The season 2 setup has me intrigued.

Lows:

• Rebekka. She was just plain annoying this season, and while she did have her moments I thought that any story centric stuff with her was not very good. I do hope future seasons make me root for her more. I never felt sorry for her.

• Klaus hate. I understand that he is a bad guy, and that this show is about him redeeming himself for his family. But for the most part I never saw him as a bad guy. Every time they tried to do something to make Klaus the bad guy, I either though he was in the right or was just plain instigated.

• Klaus hate 2.0. I never believed he was in the wrong, and while I get that he’s done bad, every time he does good his sister or others constantly undermine him. It’s clear the guy was trying, give him a break.

• Marcel. I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to picture him as a threat. He was kinda just there. He did have moments where I liked him. But I never saw him as a threat. I hope he actually does more in future season.

• Davina. Similar to Marcel. Am I supposed to sympathize with her? She’s just not like able. Hope she gets better. Do like her interactions with Josh though.

• Monique. She took away Sophie, and I liked Sophie.
