While I understand some of the bonding moments are fictionalized, I wonder about the emotional impact of Mountbatten's sudden passing on Prince Charles.
Dickie had definitely seemed to have understood how to push-pull with Charles on matters, so I wonder if not for his sudden passing, would Charles have been a little more well settled emotionally? Both definitely respected each other and Dickie definitely seemed to empathize with Charles more than the rest of the royals, so one can't help but wonder about the impact of Dickie's death and how the lost influence shaped the Prince's life.
