I have a 2022 Model 3 and only have the default auto steer. I got that car in February 2022 and since then have only ignored the warnings 2 times and it was only disabled for that drive. Recently however, I was on a road trip coming back from Christmas (after the new software update) and turned on autosteer on the highway so I can change music and reroute my navigation. I immediately got a new warning saying “please pay attention to the road” and before I could put my hands back on the wheel it disabled and when I parked it notified be that autosteer will be unavailable after 4 more instances of that happening. Does this new update use eye tracking or is this just dependent on hands on the wheel? How can I cheat the system on this because I turn it on to change things on the screen often? And if it disables after 4 more times I’d it permanent or is it a suspension?
