Several months ago, I subscribed to FSD in my 2017 Model X. After doing so, I noticed a toggle under Autopilot settings to enabled FSD Beta; however, the toggle was disabled. Under the toggle, though, it said that FSD Beta would be available in a future software update. A couple of months later, no software update had enabled the FSD Beta.
I received a notice that my 2017 MX qualified for a free camera upgrade. I scheduled the upgrade, a Tesla Mobile Technician came to my house, my cameras were upgraded in an hour, and low-and-behold there was a software update for my MX. I installed it and there was the long awaited FSD Beta (which is pretty darn spectacular).
I purchased a previously owned 2020 Model X about a month ago. Last week I decided to subscribe to FSD again. Once again, the toggle for FSD Beta appeared under the Autopilot settings. Once again it was greyed out with the message that the software would be available in a future update. An update has come and gone and the FSD Beta toggle is still disabled.
Does my 2020 MX need the same camera upgrade? Or do I just need to be patient.
