What’s your favorite subtle metaphor?
Post Body

I started what is probably my fourth rewatch and I’m noticing subtle metaphors that I missed in prior viewings. And that’s just in the Pilot!

For instance, I noticed that the very first time we see Ted IRL that he’s coming out of the shitter on the plane. This juxtaposes with the exuberant Ted we first see as a public persona in the taped dance sequence on ESPN. He’s dealing with something in real life but we don’t pick up on it because he’s so positive outward.

It also dawned on me that when Rebecca asks for a salad without raisins right after she fires George that she’s mocking his testicles after having just been exposed to them.

I’d love to hear of other things that may have gone under the radar!
