I just wanted to get my frustration off my chest.

We have to book play sessions weeks or even longer in advance to make sure we can get a babysitter......but I have an annoyingly irregular menstrual cycle! My period also lasts anywhere between 7 and 12 days so often nearly half the month is a write off!

I can't take any hormonal contraception for health related reasons. Also not suitable for a copper coil.

How the hell do any other women in my situation get around this?? There is absolutely no way I can guarantee I won't have my period that far in advance.

I've tried the flex cup to see if I can still have sex while on, but honestly, I get such bad cramps and just feel so tender and sorry for myself that I'm just not in the mood anyway.

I'm not really expecting any useful advice. Just maybe some sympathy from my fellow menstruators! I already moan to my friends about how horrendous my periods are, but obviously can't talk to them about how it affects this part of my life!
