Maintaining privacy / avoiding being outed
Post Body

There is another great thread around using fake names online. I had some additional related questions but didn’t want to hijack that thread.
We like finding other couples via the popular LS sites (SLS, SDC, etc). For those that do that, how do you maintain your privacy to limit the risk of being outed? Here are some things we do or are considering doing: 1. We take advantage of the built in privacy settings such that only other paid members can even see our profile.
2. No face pictures are available to general paid users though we do have blurred faces on our profile picture. 3. We have some G-rated face pictures in our private folder on those sites that we share upon request from couples we find interesting. We are considering taking those down in favor of sharing those via Kik as an added security measure (rather than relying upon those sites to have good security). Any down side to this? 4. We don’t use any pics on swinger sites that we use elsewhere.
5. Our username does not use our real names and our listed hometown is the nearby large city, not our actual suburban hometown. 6. We are considering sticking to our usernames in any online discussion (via Kik or whatever) until we’ve met in person at least once. At that point we share our real first names. Would this be seen as weird or too paranoid? 7. What should we do differently or in addition to this when it comes to single guys? We worry about them more due to potential for stalkers, revenge, whatever. Less for them to lose so the “mutually assured destruction” concept isn’t as much of a factor.
Thanks for your feedback!
