Finding Bi partners when you have different taste? Help

My hubby is Bi. We prefer MMF threesomes. How do you navigate when you don't have the same taste in the same sex? We've been at this for 17 years, so no preachy communication is key stuff. We do talk of course, that's the issue ..finding common ground. Please comment if any of you have dealt with this, Bi male or female. I feel like one of us is never getting what they want.
