Trying to decide between the scout and the rebel. I’m 40 years old, 5’10” 270 lbs and this will be my first bike. In the area I’m in I’d be doing a lot of highway driving and eventually would like to be able to ride 2 up with the bike.

Looks, build quality, max rider weights, and available accessories all make me want to choose the Scout. The one thing making me hesitate is the lack of a fuel gauge and smaller tank on the Scout. Is there any after market solution for the fuel gauge? I also like the electronic gauges and rider modes available on the rebel more than the scout gauges. Would learning on the rebel and upgrading to a chief or something larger when I’m experienced enough to take on a passenger be a better choice?
