Are custom laptop builds reliable?

Hi all, I'm looking at a customizable build on a website I've bought components from in the past: https://www.scan.co.uk/3xs/configurator/thin-and-light-gaming-laptop-geforce-intel-skylake-17in

The price seems fantastic, I've compared it to brands such as MSI, Asus and it is a fair bit cheaper. My question would be, what can those brands offer over a custom build like this? Aside from the components that I am able to choose, is there anything else that can make it "cheap"?

I'm specifically looking at a GTX1060 build and I can't find anything that can beat this. If you know of something I'd be very interested to see it.
