Journal of Urist Forlasanto
2nd Slate, 181
Emutherith is now a Barony! I chose the expedition leader.
2nd Felsite, 181
Migrants have come, obviously our fame has spread. 26 new recruits --er, I mean, hardworking dwarves have entered the baron's estates. Ok, ok. So I didn't put them all in the military. Only some. Others were recruited into the pickaxe army. Much dirt was excavated to get them up to speed.
24th Felsite, 181
Rumors of a forgotten beast lurking in the caverns below have reached the baronic ears. We'll leave that one alone. Our troops are not "there" yet.
Asen (the "d" is silent) has been struck by inspiration and taken a leatherworks.

Limul and Zuglar, the miners which were immolated last year, have been put to rest. I built some slabs and had them engraved. Along with a few other dwarves that needed memorials.
Also, Asen (the 'hat' is silent) has blessed our strongholds with a freaking boot artifact. Just one. I guess that'll come in handy next time a dorf loses a leg. At least it had a lovely decoration.
I'm expanding the forge level a bit. There's now an upper level and a lower level.

Forlasanto is a blood sucker. Caught him red-handed. (That's the point that I named him.)
I edited the raws so that when a vampire drinks blood, they temporarily can drink alcohol. This prevents the slowdown. So as long as there is no shortage of blood or booze, someone could perforate Forlasanto in a blood well and create a pretty nifty vampire fortress.
20th Moonstone: Endok Cattennebel is working on some secret project. The whole fortress is abuzz with what it could be.... Aaaaaand it's a pretty rock. Where's my freaking gem door, dorf! You're fired.
28th Moonstone 181
Id Mishosducim lost his little dwarven mind. After divulging himself of clothing, and then complaining about it, he decided to pick on a war dog, which ate his dorfy little ass. I laughed. I didn't take a screenshot of the battle, though. Portrait of a serial killler.
Sorry I got lazy about the journaling. My life got temporarily chaotic.
Keeping the nobles happy has been a real task. First one thing, then another. Oh, you want a tomb. There ya go. Oh, you didn't want a peasant tomb? Quit your whining. I don't have a problem pitting your noble butt. And that's pretty much how it went for each of the nobles.
I tried to create a pond, but that didn't work so well. Perhaps if it were lined with rock.
Trading with Mountainhome and with the humans went well. I bought just about everything that wasn't pinned down. The "human" ambassador was pretty cool.
I did create an indoor depot with a lock system of sorts. All it lacks is a way to flood it with water when the hippies return. (If I had had the lock system in place before the hippies arrived, their rotting corpses would still be there. Let's just say the encounter was not financially satisfying.)
Two standing militia units have been established. Together they've been able to hold back the occasional snatcher or thief without any real casualties.
creating enough arrows has been a problem. In hindsight, I probably just needed to enable more bone carvers?
I never got around to digging a well, or creating a hospital.
