So I like play using ticks_per_turn 5 on my over clocked ryzen 3600x. I just have an ichy trigger finger for my spacebar and/or have the fleets with no orders pause mod installed. But after about 100-120 years I have turn off ticks_per_turn, which is fine but I really want to play my egalitarian multiracial gene modified specialist empire and that seems to make the lag killer. So now I am eyeballing getting a ryzen 7 5800x3d and I only need it for Stellaris, everything else I do works fine with the 3600x. If I had a wish, it would be to have the game run fairly smoothly using all the features enabled in the late game.
So does buying a $320 cpu just to play Stellaris mean that I have a Stellaris problem? Am I just a speed freak?
