I upgraded from an LCD Steam Deck to the OLED this month. I noticed within days that my new model had a very loud, squeaky left trigger. It would also very frequently set off the haptics in the touch pads every time I pulled the triggers down. After waiting a week or so for Valve (two days before they responded to my support request, followed by about another 50ish hours before they responded again) I woke up to an RMA label and instructions in my inbox.
I didn’t read their response on the Steam Support Page, as I followed their instructions from the RMA print out included in the email. Packed my new OLED up without the case or the charger and mailed it back yesterday. I decided to read their support response in full today and noticed that they asked for both of those things back, even though the RMA instructions in the email never asked for them…
My question is: What are the chances that Valve will repair my Deck vs replace it entirely? And will they ask for the charger and case back before they make that decision?
Also, before you mention it: Yes, I know I should have read their support ticket response. Yes, I am an idiot. I was just impatient after waiting a week to fix my brand new Deck that I glossed over that stuff.
