I think Hulk Hogan is a great wrestler and immeasurably important to the wrestling industry.
I have a low opinion of Terry Bollea, and I believe Bollea has done a lot of work to obfuscate the line between the Hulk Hogan persona and his real character. It's partially disappointing to see that he did some incredible things and yet never found security in those accomplishments. He caught a 500-pound fish and just had to say it was 1000 pounds.
Hogan jobbed when it was politically advantageous for him to do so. He lost matches to Arn Anderson and Jacques Rougeau, but neither were threats to him politically. He feuded with Billy Kidman almost out of spite, to show that Kidman wasn't ready and that Russo was wrong (I agree with the Russo part, but Kidman didn't deserve that).
And of course there is Bollea's racism, which is far beyond him using a slur like he said in his apology.
