I set the arbitrary distance of 5000 meters away (thanks high school cross country), and at a full sprint holding the jump button as well for that little extra speed boost, I was off. I took the most direct route I could, but to be safe I subtracted 15 seconds from Spider-Man's final time. Then for a couple pedestrian blockages and cars I subtracted another 10 seconds.
The final raw time = 8:50.97min/5k or 3.106856mi Subtracting obstructions = 8:25.97min/5k or 3.106856mi
Then using some dimensional analysis I wanted to know his MPH and KPH.
First to make sure units are right, 25.97sec/60.00sec = .432
Then 3.106856mi/8.432min=.3684mi/min .3684(60)= 22.10MPH or 35.56KPH
For reference the current fasted 5k time is held by Kenenisa Bekele with 12:37.35, so Mr. Parker blows that record out of the water. Now the top human speed, set by Usain Bolt, was 44.72KPH or 27.78MPH, markedly faster than our friendly nieghborhood you know who, though it was only for 100 meters, specifically meters 60-80 of the 100 meters. Whereas Spidey was running a few MPH/KPH slower for 50x the distance.
Thank you for reading this nonsense, and have a great night!
