I picked up a Shield Plus a couple weeks ago. Shortly after that I saw a deal on the 15 round mags so I grabbed 2 of those as well.
I’ve taken them to the range 4 or 5 times now and the 15 rounders seem to jam allll the time. Like not just once or twice, but constantly. This morning I had 5 consecutive jams in a row on the same mag. All the rounds looked like the tip of the bullet was lower than the shell (tilted forward into the mag) before I re-racked and they loaded correctly. I’ve tried shooting multiple brands of ammo, and have had jams with both FMJ and JHP rounds.
I’ve seen the complaints people have with the 15 rd mags being impossible to load unless you open them up and shave some plastic off the follower so the spring sits correctly, and mine were hard af to load at first but now they they’re broken in it hasn’t really been an issue and I can load by hand so I didn’t bother to open them up and modify them. Now I’m wondering if the follower/spring interaction in the mag could be causing the bullets to load unevenly or something.
Have never had a single jam with the 10 or 13 rd mags that it came with, but the 15s have not been reliable for me at all…
